Dannomond is a high performance pure polyurethane that was specifically developed for the production of climbing holds. Dannomond has high impact and strength resistance qualities and will bend when subjected to extreme situations whereas other polyurethane materials might crack or break, causing a safety issue and the loss of a useful hold. Dannomond also contains a high level of UV stabilizing agent, this helps protect the vivid colors from light damage over time.
Dannomond was discovered by Dan French in his lab at Composite-X. Dan has a degree in Chemistry from the University of Sheffield and has been working in the hold industry for over a quarter of a century. In his lab, Dan has created and tested close to 1,200 different polyurethane formulations before coming to the conclusion that Dannomond is the best PU system for climbing holds. Dan’s background in material science allowed him to create a set of strict tests and controls in order to evaluate the different blends of plastic. Dan and the Composite-X team build one of a kind machines to verify and test the quality of their products.
Pusher is proud to partner with Composite-X for our hold production. We believe in producing the best quality, longest lasting climbing holds in the world.
